Quantum computing is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of Israel’s technological advantage and national security. The field is expected to unlock scientific, medical, economic and technological breakthroughs that will shape the country’s future capabilities and long-term resilience.

As part of the Institute for National Security Studies’ Quantum Horizon Initiative, INSS hosted a special reception for Prof. John M. Martinis, the 2025 Nobel Laureate in Physics and one of the world’s leading figures in quantum computing. Prof. Martinis met with INSS researchers and senior representatives from Israel’s emerging quantum ecosystem for a discussion on the strategic importance of quantum technologies and the opportunities they create for Israel.

The Quantum Horizon Initiative serves as a national platform for connecting cutting-edge scientific research with policy, regulation and strategic planning. Through this work, INSS aims to support the development of advanced technologies that can reinforce Israel’s security, strengthen its economic competitiveness and ensure its long-term technological edge.
