
On the occasion of 70 years of Israeli independence, and with the support of the Israeli Embassy in Vienna, the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) took part in the annual European Forum Alpbach 2018 in Austria on the topic of "Diversity and Resilience." Senior research fellow Dr. Oded Eran and research associate Adi Kantor, both representing the INSS Europe Research Program, organized and participated in a simulation "European Security and the Mediterranean" (together with senior figures from the EU, Israel, and Egypt) and in a panel titled "Israel: Can Democracy Exist Without Peace." Among the distinguished guests in this year's conference: Austria's Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon (KOR), and former Federal President Heinz Fischer (AUT).
