While the security establishment is looking northward, our attention should be turned inward.
What we witnessed with our own eyes, first at Sde Teiman and then at Beit Lid military bases, was disintegration and chaos. We saw elected officials inciting and pouring more fuel on the fire, rather than calming the situation, despite knowing the challenges Israel is currently facing.
In a democratic country, it is allowed and important to demonstrate, and it is desirable to argue vehemently. However, this has nothing to do with what we witnessed. The prime minister should address the public and speak clearly on this matter, as it is just as urgent as other security discussions, if not more so.
