Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak met with the staff of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS).

The meeting focused on the strategic challenges facing the State of Israel. Barak noted the importance of think tanks in Israel, chief among them INSS, the leading think tank in Israel and the region in the field of national security. Among the topics Barak included in his remarks that are also researched at INSS: the implications of Iran’s in effect already being a nuclear threshold state; the legal and international costs Israel is liable to pay for certain actions that may be taken by the new government; the significance for Israel of a future war in the northern arena; and future military buildup, including with robotics and artificial intelligence.
