Since Israel and India established diplomatic relations, economic and defense ties between the two countries have grown stronger, but the ties have not developed into a true strategic partnership. At the same time, India’s close relations with Iran are one of the obstacles to the development of relations with Israel. How do the two relationships affect each other? A close look reveals that India is attempting to walk a fine line: to maintain its ties and essential interests with Iran, which is an energy supplier and an important land bridge to central Asia and has cultural and historical importance to India, and at the same time, to preserve its important strategic ties with the United States and with Israel.
