The nature and timing of Israel’s withdrawal from south Lebanon left in its wake a host of uncertainties with respect to the future of Lebanon, Syria’s relations with Lebanon, and Israel’s relations with both those countries. But it also raises issues with potentially serious implications for the Palestinian track of the Arab-Israeli peace process.
