Strategic Assessment
Research Forum | August 2004

The Israeli government approved the modified disengagement plan on June 6, 2004. The major difference from the original text lies in the declaration that the decision does not constitute approval of the evacuation of settlements, and that following the completed preparations required for the implementation of the plan the cabinet will decide whether there will be an evacuation of the four groups of settlements. The decision regarding each group of settlements will be made on its own basis, independent of decisions on the other blocs.
