September 2019 marks twenty-five years since Israel and Jordan signed the bilateral peace agreement. These years have seen a cold peace, in which the mutual benefits of cooperation and the many common state interests are not fully understood by the Israeli and Jordanian publics. Israel and Jordan have a long history of relations that are often affected by developments in the Israeli-Palestinian arena – the lack of a political solution between Israel and the Palestinians, for example, is seen by the Hashemite Kingdom as an existential threat that clouds its relations with Israel. These and other topics discussed in the joint INSS and Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi conference.
