Introduction
At the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), we are committed to promoting accessibility to ensure that individuals with disabilities and special needs can also use and benefit from the wide range of services we offer.
About a quarter of the population in Israel faces accessibility challenges on the internet: individuals with visual impairments, hearing impairments, motor disabilities, the elderly, and more. In order to provide optimal, professional, and accessible service to all, we have made the necessary adjustments to our website and have implemented accessibility guidelines as much as possible, in accordance with the Israeli accessibility standard and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments for Services), 2013 (Section C: Internet Services). The website complies with accessibility requirements under Standard 5568, Level AA, based on WCAG 2.1 guidelines. It is compatible with leading browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 9 and above.
Website Accessiility Information
We have invested significant resources to ensure that our website is easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, guided by our strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence.
We provide you with an advanced accessibility component from Equally AI, which is operated via a dedicated accessibility server. This software helps the website comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
You can activate the Equally AI accessibility menu by clicking the accessibility icon at the corner of the screen. The accessibility menu and the underlying technology offer a wide range of options, including:
-
Site and tag adjustments for assistive devices and technologies for people with disabilities.
-
Keyboard navigation between website links.
-
A button to disable flashing and/or moving screen elements.
-
A button to change contrast, with options for light contrast, dark contrast, and color inversion.
-
A button to highlight links clearly across the website.
-
Font size adjustment buttons to enlarge or reduce font sizes.
-
A text spacing button allowing three levels of spacing adjustments.
-
Dyslexia support – changes fonts to enhance readability for users with dyslexia.
-
A button to enlarge the mouse cursor.
-
A reading mask tool to focus on central page content.
-
A reading guide tool that adds a reading bar beneath the cursor for easier content tracking.
-
Text alignment tools – align text to the right, left, or center.
-
Line height adjustment – modify spacing between lines of text.
In addition, there are accessibility profiles tailored to specific needs, such as motor disabilities, blindness, color blindness, dyslexia, visual impairment, cognitive and learning disabilities, and epilepsy.
The accessibility plugin supports screen reader software including JAWS, NVDA, and others.
We continue to work to improve website accessibility as part of our commitment to enable use for the entire population, including individuals with disabilities and special needs. Despite our efforts to make all pages accessible, some content may still not be fully accessible. If you encounter difficulties browsing the website or in accessibility matters in general, we welcome your feedback, suggestions for improvement, or reports via email to our accessibility coordinator.
