Disinformation in the Digital Public Sphere: New Fellowship Program for Professionals from Germany and Israel

Germany and Israel are committed to fostering international dialogue on how to safeguard public opinion in cyberspace in the post-truth era. This new fellowship program aims to foster a lively exchange of ideas among professionals in both countries.

The Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and the Israel Public Policy Institute (IPPI) in Tel Aviv are calling for applications to the program “Disinformation in the Digital Public Sphere: European-Israeli Dialogue on Policies for the Post-Truth Era”. Applications are invited from professionals from the academic, tech, and policy communities who are resident in Israel or Germany and are currently working on strategies to develop effective policies to combat disinformation in the digital sphere. As part of the program, two research fellows from Israel will be selected to spend four to six months working with the Digital Disinformation team at the Stiftung Neue Verantwortung (SNV) in Berlin, Germany. At the same time, two fellows from Germany will be selected to spend four to six months working with research teams at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), the Israeli office of the Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBS Israel) and the Israel Public Policy Institute (IPPI) in Tel Aviv, Israel. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of 1,500 Euros. Fellows may select a flexible starting date between May 1st and July 31st, 2019. The fellowship period lasts between four to six months depending on the availability of selected fellows and host institutes. Application deadline: Rolling applications until April 7, 2019.
