To mark the fortieth anniversary of the Israel-Egypt peace agreement, INSS, Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi, the Menachem Begin Heritage Center, and the Foreign Ministry held a conference in Jerusalem at Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi. The event focused on different aspects of Egypt-Israel relations: the conflict-ridden years, 1948-1973; the peace process led by Menachem Begin; the lessons of 40 years of peace; Israeli and Egyptian perspectives on the future of the peace; and cultural perspectives on the bilateral relations. It also included a special musical performance, “From Cairo to Jerusalem,” by the Ben-Zvi Poetry Ensemble. Among the speakers at the conference: Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Dr. David Govrin; Judge Elyakim Rubinstein; Dr. Hesham Ashmawy, head of the Egyptian-American Business Association; and other experts and researchers. The number of places is limited; registration and payment is through the Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi website.
