Shmuel Even is an economist specializing in Middle East security issues. Dr. Even's publications deal with Middle East economies, the defense budget, the world oil market, intelligence, and terrorism. He is CEO of Multi Concept (Consultants) Ltd., and has served as a strategic and economic consultant to government offices and leading private companies in Israel.
Dr. Even earned his Ph.D. at the Technion and the University of Haifa. He is the author of several JCSS and INSS Memoranda, including Trends in the World Oil Market: Strategic Implications for Israel and Trends in Defense Expenditures in the Middle East, and he is co-author of: Who are the Palestinian Suicide Bombers? (2004); Political Stability in Arab States: Economic Causes and Consequences (2004); and The Israeli Economy in the Era of Globalization: Strategic Implications (2007).
Dr. Even served a long career in the IDF's Intelligence Branch, retiring with the rank of colonel.
